Escape to the wild Ancient Irish Oakwood Rainforest

Dromgarriff Rainforest is to showcase the splendor of the relationship between land and sea in this unique part of Europe. We hope that after a short walk into the rainforest, you will become part of our movement to preserve and nurture one of the last remaining temperate rainforests in Ireland, where trees, insects, and birds are in perfect harmony with nature and ourselves. 

The property of 96 acres of woodland and meadows has many thousands of trees and around two kilometers of coastal shoreline on Glengarriff Harbour. The lush beauty of the Dromgarriff Rainforest exists because of the benign effect of the Gulf Stream and the mild climate that allows sub-tropical tree ferns, scarlet fuchsia, magical moss, and tender lichen to flourish side by side with the ancient oaks and gigantic conifers, trees which were planted over a century ago. Get immersed in this gorgeous, healing & grounding place of preservation and growth.

SILVER BIRCH 

Silver Birch is the largest of the houses at Dromgarriff, with stunning views of Bantry Bay and the Caha mountains. This modern retreat has 11 comfortable bedrooms, 9 of which are en-suite. There is one large fully equipped kitchen and 1 smaller kitchen, two living room areas with open fires, a game room, large sauna and a yoga studio.  The house is the perfect setting for larger groups, with plenty of space for a variety of gatherings, affording guests ample opportunities for lovely meals and quiet moments of solitude. The gorgeous terraces and barbecue are available for outdoor dining.  A sauna in the wilds is yours to enjoy. Silver Birch is just steps from Bantry Bay, there are opportunities to ocean swim, walk through the magical rainforest, and visit the mossy river.
